ASKING TO PLAY SOCIAL STORIES, PLAYING WITH FRIENDS SOCIAL STORY, MAKING FRIENDS (2024)

Are you working on routines, procedures and expectations as part of your back to school activities? Are you looking to add social skills activities for back to school and the beginning of the year in your special education classroom? Do you need social stories about asking to play or a playing with friends social story? This Asking to Play and Playing With Friends Social Story is the perfect social skills activity to do the first week of school or the first month of school!

This social skills story helps to teach students how to ask to join into play, how to accept no and respond to no, and how to problem solve (such as asking another friend to play, or going to an adult). It also teaches positive behaviour when playing with others (turn taking, sharing, and being kind). It comes with an optional sticker page to reward student attempts.

The story chunks information to help prek, kindergarten, Autistic, and special needs students, and uses Boardmaker picture communication symbols (PCS). It also comes in both color and black and white, giving you options if you don't have access to color ink, or if you think your student would like to color the images. printing in black and white and stapling the book also gives you a low prep opportunity to help your student generalize the skill (at home).

I recommend laminating and either binding it the color booklet, or using a binding ring. If you use a binding ring, you canadd and/or remove pages to based on their needs.
